Obituary George Hosterman
George Hosterman, son of Mary Adeline Collins and Seright Hosterman, died at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles on January 3, 1969, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 11 days. He was a graduate of Auburn high school with the class of 1902. He was married to Nellie Wagner at Abilene, Kansas in 1910, she passed away in 1916, leaving two small son's. In 1932 he was married to Marie Haselton, in Wyoming, one son, Frank was born to them. Mr. Hosterman had been employed by the Burlington Railroad since 1918, at the time of his retirement in 1950, he was a conductor, and they lived at Sheridan, Wyoming. About five years ago they moved to southern California to be near their sons. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ray and Arch. Surviving are his wife Marie; three sons, George Jr., Grant Ross and Frank, all of California; three grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; a sister, Mrs. Homer Matthews of Brownville; sister-in-law, Mrs. Cassie Hosterman of Auburn; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held January 6 at the Allen funeral home in Bell Gardens, with burial in Rose Hill cemetery at Los Angeles.
