Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Wilson, on November 30, 1998. He was a World War II Veteran.

She graduated from Commerce High School in San Francisco and had lived in Reno for 20 years after relocating from Novato, California. She worked as a beautician, writer, and school teacher, teaching all grades for 15 years. She retired from Reno Business College in 1989. She was a member of the Republican National Committee and E.L.M. Community Church. She was baptized Episcopal.

Kay was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by Sandra Louise Reed of Carson City; William Walter Wilson of CA; Gerald Arnold Wilson of Reno; Loretta Lee Ament of Silver Springs; Alice Mary Paulson of Lemmon Valley; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
