Veteran Dies at Lincoln Hospital
Glenn E. Fink, 23-year-old World War II veteran, died early Friday at the Veterans Hospital in Lincoln. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Fink of 847 North Webster. Surviving him are his parents, a sister, LaVergne, and a brother, William, all of Hastings and a grandfather, Leonard Fink of Logan, Kansas. Fink was discharged from the army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas on December 21 after having served overseas in North Africa and Italy with the 24th General Hospital Company. He was a technician (5g) and entered the army at Phillipsburg, Kansas on November 10, 1942. Born on June 30, 1922, at Phillipsburg, Fink lived in that community all his life before entering the service. The family moved to Hastings a short time ago. He became ill following his discharge and went to the Veterans Hospital January 4. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p. m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Dr. F. C. Schuldt will officiate. Burial will be at Parkview cemetery. The body was brought to Hastings today. The Volland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
