Obituary

George William Hoy

G. William Hoy, of 422 North Seventh Street,

widely known as a cigar maker, passed away at his home

at 2:22 this morning, with his family surrounding his bedside.

 He had been afflicted with heart trouble for four years or more,

and during that period suffered three serious attacks,

all of which menaced his life for a time.

When the attacks passed, he was able to be about.

On Saturday, another one laid him low and medical skill this time

was unavailing in efforts made to get the diseased organ

 to function properly.

 Mr. Hoy was aged 66 years.

 He was born and raised in the region of Kimmerling's Church,

 a son of the late George Hoy, and spent several years

of his early career as a school teacher.

Later he took to cigar making

and for thirty years was continuously employed at

Moeckle's Lebanon Cigar company factory.

He was widely known in the city,

and a large number of friends mourn his loss.

He was a member of Kimmerling's Reformed church,

 and was also identified with the membership

of the local cigar maker's union.

Beside his wife, Matilda, he leaves the following children,

all of whom were at the bedside when the end came,

 Mrs. Harry (Sarah "Catherine") Fry, Harrisburg;

 Mrs. Elmer W. (Phoebe) Baeshore,

Mrs. Harold E. (Villetta)  Beyer,

Mrs. W. A. (Clarissa) Parsons, Lebanon;

Mrs. Fred Boger, Atlantic City;

Arthur F. Hoy, George Hoy, Llewellyn Hoy,

Prosper Hoy and Clifford Hoy, at home.

There are nine grandchildren.
