Services Held For

William A. Hoy

 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 19, at 2:30 pm, from the Arnold United Methodist Church for William A. Hoy, who passed away on Thursday, January 17,

at North Platte, Nebraska.

Rev. Willard Scott officiated at the services.

 

Mr. Everett Platt sang "Now The Day is Over",

accompanied by Mrs. Mynor Smith at the organ.

Bearers were Dee Croghan, Cliff Furmanski, Darrell Hircock,

Don Smith, Dwight Steele and Harold Strasburg.

Interment was in the Arnold Cemetery with Quig and Tickle Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

 

William A. Hoy, son of Franklin and Elsie (Ammerman) Hoy was born August 12, 1897 on the Garfield Table where he grew up and attended Garfield School. He later attended the Agricultural College at the University of Nebraska, returning to Arnold where he was engaged in farming. William departed this life January 17, 1974 at the age of 76 years, five months and five days at the Linden Manor Nursing Home in North Platte.

 

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Clarence and Arley; and one sister, Ruberta.

 

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. C. H. (Alta) Eastburn of North Platte and Mrs. Harry (Loreta) Carlson of Arnold, and nieces and nephews, Rodney Carlson of Louisville, Kentucky, Thomas Eastburn of Lomita, California, Sandra Carlson,

North Platte, Margaret Cosgrove, Wheat Ridge, Colorado

and Bob Hoy, Des Moines, Iowa.
