Alice E.
South was born in Cedar county, Missouri, the daughter of
Billingsley
and Emily Roberts, March 8, 1860 and passed away at
a local
hospital June 4, at the age of 90 years.
She came to
Nebraska with her parents when she was five
years of age.
The family settled in the Peru vicinity. The trip
was made by
covered wagon with a party of emigrants. The trip
took about
six weeks.
Mrs. South
spent most of her life in Nemaha county, the past
several years
having been spent in Auburn.
She was
united in marriage to John Riley South, who passed
away July 25,
1910.
She is
survived y several nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services were held at the chapel in the Peru cemetery,
Tuesday, June
6, at 2:00 p.m., Reverend D. A. McCullough, pastor
of the
Methodist church of Peru officiating.

Cleve Coatney, Raymond Redfern, James Majors,
Harry
Hutchison, W. W. Barnes, Rev. L. E. Strickler.
Interment
Peru cemetery with May and Timm
in
charge of arrangements.
