Grau

Mathilda Mary "Tillie" Vogel Grau passed away February 26, 1980 at the age of 66. She was born April 24, 1913 in Phillips County to Henry and Emma (Eltiste) Vogel.  She was united in marriage to Ernest Grau on November 16, 1938. They made their home west of Phillipsburg.

Tillie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Ernest of the home; daughters, Laverne Merklein, Stockton, Kansas, Leanna Gibson, Salina, Kansas; sons, Delvin, Rose Hill, Kansas, Melvin, Phillipsburg, Kansas; one sister, Norma Preuss, Phillipsburg and seven grandchildren; Dale, Dwight, Sally, Susan, LeRoy, David and Sheila.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an

 infant brother.

Tillie was baptized into the Lutheran Faith on May 9, 1913, and was confirmed at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church on May 8, 1927.

Memorial services were held Thursday, February 28, at 2 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Douglas Zurek officiating. Special music was furnished by Betty and Roland Nyquist with Luella Zillinger as organist.

Casket bearers were LeRoy Hays, Dale Merklein, Dwight Merklein, Larry Preuss, James Zillinger and Louis Zillinger, . Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Phillips County, Kansas.
