Henry Vogel, the son of John Vogel and his wife, Elizabeth nee Scholler, was born on February 14, 1833, in Phillips county, Kansas.

On March 11, 1883, the father arms of God were opened to him in Holy Baptism and on April 19, 1898, he was confirmed in the Lutheran church of Stuttgart where he remained a life-long member.

He grew to manhood on his parents farm and on July 27, 1910, he was united in the bonds of Holy Matrimony with Emma Eltiste. Their union was blessed with two daughters and one son. Our gracious God permitted them to enjoy over 50 years of married life.

Death came early on the morning of June 17, 1964, in Stuttgart at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 3 days.

Mr. Vogel was preceded in death by his parents, one son, four brothers and one sister.
