Richard "Dick" Harbour

Richard Leon Harbour, son of Leon and Oleta (Jack) Harbour

was born April 6, 1951 at Sabetha, Kansas. He was

baptized April 2, 1961 at the Humboldt Christian Church by

Rev. Ray L. Outler. He grew up in the Stella area and graduated

from Southeast Consolidated High School in 1969.

Dick was married to Kay Bantz in September of 1969. To that

union a son Corey and daughter Stacy were born. He later

married Pamela Eltiste Nichols on January 15, 1983.

Richard and Pam lived in the Stella area until moving to Auburn

in 1996.

Richard farmed for many years and worked at Auburn Consolidated

Industries in Auburn until his health began to fail. He was a great

jokester and storyteller. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who

loved to ride horses as well as being an amateur bull rider. Richard's

greatest achievement was his 6 children and his proudest moments were

his 8 grandchildren who thought the world of him.

One can't say Richard didn't fight the good fight. His bravery and

courage should be a great lesson to us all. He died Monday,

January 16, 2006 in Shenandoah, Iowa as the result of an

automobile accident. He had reached the age of 54 years,

9 months, and 10 days.
