Obituary
Little Ethelyn Marie Hoy, daughter of Isaac Hoy and wife, died March 4, 1893, aged 1 year, 2 months and 4 days.
Her sufferings were but 3 brief days, so soon, the fatal disease did it's work. Scarlet fever and pneumonia were the fatal destroyers.
Marie was beautiful and of a sweet disposition, a perfect picture of innocence.
The funeral services were held at the Bloom Chapel Evangelical Church, Monday March 6th, conducted by Rev. E.D. Paulin, of East Ringgold, O.
Marie is gone, her little form, Now sleeping cold in death; Like a lovely flower of summer morn Swept away by a single breath.
Like the opening bud of a tiny twig, Her little life awhile did bloom; Which now to-day, as loving friends We sadly follow to the tomb.
With eyes so dim, with flowing tears, Heart strings touched with feeling now; Throbbing, beating, onward, upward To the Holy will of God we bow.
Carried by the Angels to that land, Far beyond all pain and care, Waiting on the Golden Strand We hope at last to meet her there.
Farewell, Marie, Farwell till then, Though now 'tis hard to parted be, We hope someday to meet again, Your Angel form in Heaven to see.
