The body will lie in state for an hour this morning prior to the services.
Mr. Hoy was born August 9, 1858, in Houcktown, the son of Jacob and Rebecca (Hoffman) Hoy. He was married April 14, 1886, to Saloma Ellen Solt, who died April 26, 1929.
To this union were born two children, a daughter, V. Mable, who became the wife of the late Merle A. Denison, and a son, Frank E., 323 W. Lincoln Street. Mrs. Denison died March 24, 1922.
Mr. Hoy was again married September 20, 1930, to Mrs. Lois Siddall Canfield, of Delaware, who survives.
His son Frank, former Hancock County Sheriff, left on a fishing trip in Michigan, last Monday, the day before his father suffered a stroke. He returned home Sunday evening to learn his father had died. Efforts to contact him in Michigan had been futile.
In addition to his wife and son, Mr. Hoy is survived by a brother, William E. Hoy, of Cincinnati; two grandsons, John Smith Hoy and Frank A. Denison, and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Frank and John Hoy, and a sister, Mrs. Ora Helms, preceded him in death.
For many years, Mr. Hoy was associated with his father-in-law, Peter Solt, in the livestock business. He moved to Findlay in 1903 and retired from active business in 1922.
He was a member of the official board and Brotherhood class of the First Methodist church.
