Barbara Ann Hildenbrand was born in Ockoreheim, Heinbeir, Germany on June 24, 1847. Departed this life at the Home of her daughter Mrs. Hannah Bartholomew, January 23, 1934 at the age of 86 years 6 months 29 days.
She came to America with her parents in the spring of 1854, when she was but six years of age. The voyage was made in an old-fashioned sailing vessel and it required three months to make the trip. The experience of that long tedious, voyage were indelibly stamped on her mind.
The family settled at Cleveland, Ohio and remained there until 1862 when they migrated to Nebraska Territory and settled
at Nebraska City. On January 1, 1869, she was united in marriage to John Kaiser at Nebraska City. To this union, two daughters were born, both of whom survive. in Missouri. and resided there until 1877 when they moved to Nemaha County, Nebraska. In 1891 they came to Red Willow County and settled on a farm East of Lebanon where they continued to make their home.
five years before, the state was admitted to the union and living here nearly 65 years over 43 years of which was in this vicinity. She shared with others the trying experiences of sacrifice and toil of pioneer life. Yet she lived to see her sacrifice and toil bear rich fruited of hopes fulfilled and a comfortable home with loved ones dear.
by her friends ~was not only numbered among the early settlers of this state but she was also a pioneer of faith having been confirmed in the German Lutheran Church at Cleveland, Ohio in 1852, and she remained stead-fast and true to her faith to the last. All through these last several years while her body suffered thee afflictions incident to old age her Bible brought her light and hope and
gave her strength for her day. In 1871, Mr. & Mrs. Kaiser adopted a daughter Mary, whom ministered lovingly to them until she was stricken with Cancer and answered the summons of death two years ago.
except the youngest sister, Mrs. Louise Schmohl who resides in Los Angeles, California. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Mrs. Louise Bodwell of Fort Collins, Colorado; and Mrs. Hannah Bartholomew of Lebanon, Nebraska; grandchildren, and sorrowing relatives and friends. Her husband preceded her in death on December 20, 1928 at the age of
90 years 9months 21 days Funeral
