Nick Fink Funeral In Newell Tuesday
Funeral services were held at the Newell Congregational Church on Tuesday of this week for Nick Fink, well known ranchman for nearly 40 years in the Mason neighborhood, north of Newell. Mr. Fink died Sunday morning in the Belle Fourche hospital, where he had been confined since last September. The religious rites were conducted by the Reverend Glen Van Vactor and funeral arrangements were under direction of Frost & Son Funeral home. Interment was in Newell cemetery. Deceased was born at Dubuque, Iowa, on January 3, 1874. He was married there in 1900 to Minnie Welty of Dubuque. That same year they came to Butte county and homesteaded near Mason, where they conducted a farm and livestock business until about seven years ago, when Mr. Fink was compelled to retire on account of failing health. Mrs. Fink died in 1941; He is survived by one son, Glenn Fink, who now lives in Belle Fourche.

Mrs. Nick Fink Dies Sunday P.M. at Mason
Funeral Services for Pioneer Butte County Lady to be Conducted Here This Afternoon
Funeral services for Mrs. Nick Fink, 59, Butte county resident for more than 30 years, who died Sunday afternoon at the home of her son, Glenn Fink, near Mason, will be conducted here this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. Arthur Green, Congregational minister of Nisland, will conduct the services from the local Congregational Methodist church, and burial will be in the Newell cemetery. Mrs. Fink had been ill for several years and passed away Sunday at 12:45 p.m. Minnie Welty was born June 27, 1881, at Zwingle, Iowa, and resided there for many years, being married in Iowa in 1900 to Nick Fink and to this union one son, Glenn was born. Later the family lived for short periods in Minnesota and near Huron, and in 1909 came to Butte county, settling on a homestead where they have resided almost continuously since. Three years ago when Mrs. Fink's health failed, they moved to Newell and last fall she went to Los Angeles, California, where she spent several months with her sister, in hopes of regaining her health. But failing this she returned in January to the home of her son, where she passed away. Mrs. Fink was a loyal friend and fine neighbor and will be greatly missed by a host of friends. She is survived by her widower, Nick Fink, and one son, Glenn, both of Mason; three grandchildren, Glenn Jr., Mary Lou and Gary Fink; a sister, Mrs. Irwin E. Cane, of Los Angeles, and a brother, "Butch" Welty of Kansas; other relatives and a large number of friends.
