Clair Hoy Dies December 10th
Clair Hoy, age 86, died of a heart attack at Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, December 10, 1974. He was cremated and the remains were sent to Fort McPherson, December 27, 1974, for burial. He came to Garfield Table in 1907, and later homesteaded north of Stapleton. He farmed some, worked here and there and traveled most of the western U.S.A. In 1914, he homesteaded in Haver, Montana. In 1917, he joined the U.S.A. Army and was discharged in 1919. He farmed on Garfield Table until 1938, when he returned to Pennsylvania, where he made his home with his sister, Mrs. Daniel (Ina) Eells. He leaves to mourn, three sisters in Pennsylvania, and several nieces and nephews. In Nevada, a niece, Mrs. Clair Altizer of Laughlin, and in Nebraska, a niece, Mrs. George Taylor of North Platte, a nephew, Mr. Robert Decker of Kearney, and two cousins, Mrs. Henry Eastburn and Mrs. Harry Carlson of Arnold, Nebraska.
