Information on this Family provided by Tricia Wilkinson,
Great-Granddaughter of Abraham & Sarah Catherine (Koch) Hoy Jr
A Little Hoy Family History Written by: Tricia Wilkinson My Great-Grandfather is Abraham Hoy Jr. who married the daughter of Amanda Catherine (Dresback) Koch. Abraham Hoy Jr. and Sarah Catherine Koch married 15 Jun 1873 in St. Joseph Township, Champaign County, Illinois.
Interesting to note also that Catherine Hoy and Anna Hoy (sisters) married brothers; Catherine married Jacob E. Dresback and Anna Married John Dresbach.
They each spell their last name differently but we know their parents are Jacob Dresback and Elizabeth. Jacob died: 19 Dec 1857 Logan County, Ohio, USA Plum Cemetery Washington Twp., Logan County, Ohio and Elizabeth born: 13 Dec 1781 died: 24 Jun 1835, grave-Fairfield County, Ohio.
Jacob E. Dresback and Catherine Hoy Dresback died in Champaign County, Illinois.
Anyway... the interesting part was that Abraham Hoy Jr. is the nephew of Catherine Hoy Dresback and Abraham married Catherine's Granddaughter. So Abraham and Sarah were already cousins and they married. Amanda Catherine Dresback Koch had 9 children.
