Ivan L. Johnson
Ivan Leonard Johnson, son of S. A. and Esther (Neese) Johnson was born September 18, 1903 at Albion and died at Grand Island, May 4, 1979 at the age of 75. He received his education in the Albion Public Schools. He was united in marriage to Effie Edwards on December 23, 1946. He had been in the plumbing business in Albion for 34 years. His father was the first plumber in Albion and he carried on the business. Mr. Johnson attended the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Effie Johnson of Albion; two sons, Lee Johnson of Gunnison, Colorado, and Jerry Johnson of Pasadena, California; one daughter, Mrs. Dean (Jean) Nore of Grand Island; one brother, Edward Johnson of Fresno, California; six half-brothers; Lee of Montrose, Colorado, Ralph of Lexington, Dick Johnson of Albion, Don of Gretna, Jack of Eureka, California and Jim of Manchester, Washington. Also, three half-sisters; Mary Reardon and Katherine Fritzges of St. Edward, Florence Loveland of Denver, Colorado, and one step-brother, Dale McQueen of Pawnee City; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, by two brothers, Vern and Guy and one half-sister. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, May 7 at the Levander Funeral Home in Albion. Pallbearers were Ted Karabel, Russ Hosford, Gaylen Schoening, Bill Bentjen, Virgil Potter and O. G. Sherrill. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
