He was a life-long member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Stuttgart, Kansas. Mike was a farmer all of his life and farmed east of Stuttgart. He continued to reside in the rural Stuttgart area until his ill health forced him to enter the Long Term Care Unit of the Phillips County Hospital. He was a man who could meet the joys and trials of life in the quit confidence of the Christian faith. On April 14, 1909, he was united in marriage with Christina Eltiste at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Stuttgart, Kansas. To this union four children: Irwin, Ellsworth, Esther and Erna were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters and four brothers, and two grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his passing two sons: Irwin and his wife, Mildred, Wichita, Kansas; Ellsworth and his wife, Hilda, Stuttgart, Kansas; two daughters: Esther and her husband, Willard Weinman, Stuttgart, Kansas; and Mrs. Erna Bach, Phillipsburg, Kansas. He leaves two sisters; Mrs. Herman Miller, Phillipsburg, Kansas, and Mrs. Anna Vogel, Stuttgart, Kansas, 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends. Memorial services were held July 20, 1973, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Stuttgart, Kansas, with the Rev. Duane Levin officiating. Hymns were sung by Alvin Veeh and Norman Merklein and by the congregation with Mrs. Marene Levin as organist. Honorary casket bearers were, Robert Wise, Albert Morgan, Leonard Vogel and John Boyd. CARD OF THANKS We are sincerely grateful for the care and attention to our loved one during his stay at the Long Term Care Unit and for the many kind expressions of sympathy at the time of his death. The flowers, cards, food brought to our homes, personal visits, memorial gifts and other kindnesses were comforting and will never be forgotten. The Mike Miller Relatives.
