Dexter J. Hoy, 69 of Columbus was found dead at his home.

He died Saturday, and had lived in the Fullerton area until moving

to Columbus eight years ago.

He was born here November 5, 1897, and received his

education here. He married Miss Hazel Jennings on

September 22, 1921.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Alvin Hoy of Schuyler and

Billy Hoy serving with the Navy in Davisville, Rhode Island;

a daughter, Mrs. Max (Fredabelle) Swanson of Belgrade;

eight grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence Hoy of Fullerton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and eight brothers

and sisters.

Funeral services were held November 9 at the Beaman and Palmer

Funeral Home here. Rev. Tom Reborn, pastor of the

Methodist Church officiated.

Burial was in Fullerton Cemetery.

Obituary

Dexter J. Hoy

Dexter J. Hoy was born on November 5, 1897, at Fullerton,

Nebraska, and died suddenly at his home at Columbus,
Nebraska, on November 5, 1966. His parents wee the late

Mr. and Mrs. Rush J. Hoy.

He married Miss Hazel Jennings on September 22, 1921. The

couple farmed near Fullerton until eight years ago when they

moved to Columbus. The couple observed their 45th wedding

anniversary in September.

Mr. Hoy was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Alvin D. Hoy of Schuyler

and Billy W. Hoy, who is serving in the Navy and stationed at

Davisville, Rhode Island; a daughter, Mrs. Max (Fredabelle) Swanson

of Belgrade; a brother, Clarence Hoy of Fullerton; and eight

grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were conducted November 9 at the

Beaman and Palmer

Funeral Home at Fullerton by Rev. Tom Rehorn, pastor of the

Fullerton Methodist Church. Pallbearers were B. L. Anderson,

E. M. Black, Leon Dudney, Fred Graves, Merle Nesbitt and Ted Stern.

Burial was in the Fullerton Cemetery.

the flowers, food, cards, calls and trip to Omaha at the time of

death of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Also for the

many kind acts at the time of the funeral. Each kindness will always

Max V. Swanson was a lifelong resident of Nance County.

 He graduated from Fullerton High School in 1934.

 He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII, both in the Atlantic and Pacific fronts.

He farmed near Belgrade, NE. from 1946 to 1987, and later moved to a home in Fullerton.

 He and his wife enjoyed spending their winters in Mesa, Ariz.

He died as a result of injuries received in an auto accident.
