PAUL BOETHIN

OBITUARY

Paul Frederick Boethin, son of Frederick Gustav and Maria Barbara Mueller Boethin, was born on a farm northeast of Logan in the Wolf Creek area on March 5, 1900, and departed this life at the Phillips County Hospital, Phillipsburg, Kansas, on October 21, 1985, having attained the age of 85 years, seven months and 16 days.

Paul grew to manhood in the Wolf Creek area and lived on the family farm until his retirement when he moved to Phillipsburg. He was a farmer and stockman his entire life.

Paul was baptized into the Christian faith on April 1, 1900, at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Logan, and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Logan, on April 5, 1914. He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Stuttgart, at the time of his death.

On November 11, 1945, he was united in marriage with Alwina Kaiser at Stuttgart.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Sophia Novak and Martha Schick; and by three brothers: W. L. (Bill) Boethin, Frederick Boethin, and Carl Boethin; and by his parents.

He leaves to mourn his passing four nephews: Max Schick, Phillipsburg; Wilbur Boethin, Logan; Milton Boethin and Calvin Boethin, both of Stockton; and his sister-law Marie Boethin, Logan; plus other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Stuttgart, on Friday, October 25, with Pastor Duane Levin officiating. Hymns were sung by the congregation with Mrs. Marene Levin as organist.

Casket bearers were William Schick, Merlyn Schick, Steven Schick, Wilbur Boethin, Milton Boethin and Calvin Boethin.

Burial was in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Logan to await the resurrection.

Arrangements were by Olliff – Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.

We would like to thank all of our relatives and friends for the cards, flowers, memorials and food we received at the time of the death of our Uncle. We especially want to thank all of the hospital staff and Dr. Wyse for the wonderful care he received, to Pastor Levin for his visits, and to everyone at the Phillips County Home for taking care of him the past four years.
