David Sampson While Felling a Tree on His Farm
Near Mt. Blanchard.
David Sampson, one of the wealthiest and most prominent citizens of Mt. Blanchard was instantly killed Wednesday afternoon. It appears that he was in the woods on one of his farms cutting wood. In felling a tree a limb struck him on the breast
causing instant death. The Justice of the Peace in Delaware township acted as
Coroner in the case. An inquest was deemed unnecessary. He was about 56 years of age and left a wife and family of grown up children. He was the owner of several good farms which he accumulated by hard work. His sudden death is a sad blow to his many friends.
