Death of George W. Hoy
George Washington Hoy was born April 28, 1874, at Westerville, Ohio, and died at his home in Brownsville, Oregon, Sunday, June 9, 1935. He moved with his parents to South Dakota in 1882, where he lived 32 years. In 1900 he was united in marriage with Miss Minnie Richard. To this union was born two daughters, Violet B. and Georgia M. Hoy.
Mr. Hoy was converted at an early age and spent the greater part of his life in preaching the Gospel. He also taught in the public schools of South Dakota for nine years. He came to the Northwest in 1913 and served appointments in the Evangelical and Methodist Episcopal churches for eight years. He always evinced a deep interest in the work of the Kingdom and an abiding and enduring faith in God. When called he was ready.
He leaves to mourn his demise, his wife, two daughters, three sisters and one brother, all residing in Oregon, and three brothers in the Dakotas.
The funeral was held at the Methodist church at one o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Ralph G. Kleen conducting the service. Interment was made in the Masonic cemetery.

Minnie G. Hoy
Minnie G. Hoy, age 89, who had been making her home
in Sedro-Woolley with her daughter, Mrs. Albert Vernon nursing home following a long illness. She was born April 21, 1883 in Minnesota. She had lived at Hamilton, Washington for a number of years, moving to Brownsville, Oregon about 1929 where she resided for 33 years.
Her marriage to George W. Hoy took place in South Dakota in 1900. Mr. Hoy preceded her in death in 1935 at Brownsville, Oregon.
Surviving besides her daughter are three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, Violet Hoy, preceded her in death in 1962.
Private services were held Friday, January 12 at the Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley. Graveside services were held on Saturday at the Brownsville Cemetery, Brownsville, Oregon.
