Surprise Party
Miss Blanche Dye was the guest of honor at a surprise birthday party given at her home Sunday evening by a group of friends, who brought with them a delicious basket supper and also presented her many lovely gifts. Those present to help celebrate the occasion were: her sister, Miss Jessie Dye, Mrs. Nina Standly, Mrs. Mabel Conner, Mrs. Ella Watson, Mrs. Chas. Harmon, Mrs. Clyde Frans, and Misses Bess Anderson and Lela Argabright.

Former Resident Dies in California
Anna Blanche Dye, 99, of Pomona, California, died August 27, at a convalescent home in the area. Private services were held in Pomona with Todd Memorial chapel in charge of arrangements. Miss Dye was born August 10, 1882 in Nebraska and lived in the state until moving to Claremont, California in 1943. She belonged to the Lutheran church in Auburn. Survivors are nieces, Dorothy Swick of Claremont and Marjorie Dye of Mountain View, California, nephews Alton Dye of Fort Myers, Florida and George Dye of Spring Valley, California and two grand-nephews, LeRoy Swick of Claremont and Glenn Swick of Upland, California.
