Obituary Jessie V. Dye
Jessie V. Dye was born May 11, 1877 at Nemaha, the daughter of George and Mary (Grant) Dye. She attended the Champion rural school and later graduated from Auburn high school. Miss Dye resided at the family home at 2115 K Street in Auburn, which was built by her father. She worked in the office of Judge Fred Hawxby for nearly 20 years before retiring. She also taught music in Auburn. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Auburn, where she was organist for many years. She moved to California 20 years ago, where she passed away January 11, 1969, at the age of 91 years and eight months. Jessie Dye was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Charles and Emery, and a sister, Edith. Those left to mourn her passing are a sister, Blanche Dye of Claremont, California, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held January 15 at the May and Timm chapel in Auburn, conducted by Rev. Ron Norman. Mrs. Norman was soloist and Donna Caspers was organist. Pallbearers were Clyde Frans, Gallen Moore, John Grafton, George Kregio, James O'Hara and Gilbert Argabright. Burial was in Bedford cemetery at Howe.
