Emery Dye Victim Of Scarlet Fever
Emery Dye, a native of Nemaha county and for many years a resident of this vicinity, passed away at his home in Omaha Friday. Death was due to scarlet fever, and because of quarantine regulations it will be impossible to hold the funeral until Saturday when services will be held in Omaha after which the body will be taken to the Howe cemetery for burial, with short services at the grave. Mr. Dye, who was born on a farm near Nemaha was a son of the late George Dye, a pioneer resident of Nemaha county and his youth and young manhood were spent here. He was the worthy son of pioneer parents and a man who was always held in very high regard by his associates. In 1917 he went to Omaha and shortly afterwards entered the employ of the Street Railway Company as motorman, a position which he held until his death His long record is evidence of his efficiency. When a young man Mr. Dye was married to Miss Carrie Minnig of the Glen Rock neighborhood ad he is survived by his wife and four children, two sons, Alton and George and two daughters, Dorothy and Marjorie. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Dye, who lives on a farm near Nemaha and two sisters, Blanche and Jessie Dye of Auburn, who have been spending the winter with their cousin, Mrs. Carrie Davidson at Fullerton. The members of the family have the sympathy of many Nemaha county friends in their bereavement.
