Sophia Hazen
Sophia (Kaiser) Hazen, 91, rural Stockton, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at her home.
She was born January 5, 1915, in Phillips County to Henry and Sophia (Eltiste) Kaiser. She was a graduate of Woodruff High School and Emporia State Teachers College.
She married Clarence A. “Bud” Hazen on October 1, 1945, in Stockton. He preceded her in death March 9, 1989.
She was Rooks County Welfare director and co-partner of C&M Hereford Farm.
Survivors include a son, Alton Hazen, Stockton; two daughters, Wilma Linderman, Alexandria, Virginia, and Anna Schremmer, Phillipsburg; a foster son, Michael Radar, Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 P.M. Monday at United Methodist Church, Stockton, burial in Stockton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Saturday, from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. Sunday, and from 9 to 10 A.M. Monday, all at Smith-Moore Overlease Funeral Home, 723 North First, Stockton, Kansas 67669, and from 11 A.M. until time of service Monday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Clarence A. "Bud" Hazen
Clarence A. "Bud" Hazen, age 73, of Stockton, died March 9, at the Hadley Regional Medical Center in Hays. He was born November 12, 1915, in Stockton to Clarence A. and Marie A. (Sterling) Hazen. He married Sophia Kaiser October 1, 1945, in Stockton. He was a farmer-rancher and a partner in C & M Hereford Farms. He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Stockton, the Solomon Valley Community Club, Kansas Hereford Association, American Hereford Association, and Kansas Livestock Association. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie, father, Clarence, and brother, Orland. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Sophia; children, Wilma and Charles Linderman, Alton Hazen, Anna and Mel Schremmer, Mike and Diane Rader; four grandchildren: William and Corinne Linderman, Scott and Melinda Schremmer; a brother, Albert and his wife, Ethel; two sisters, Goldye Glendening and Vada Hazen; a sister-in-law, Ilah Hazen; and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were at 2:00 P.M. March 11 at the United Methodist Church in Stockton, with the Reverend Lyle Miller officiating. Burial was in the Stockton Cemetery. The family suggest memorials to the Methodist Church Scholarship Fund.
