Bohling-Goering

One of the most beautiful weddings of the season took place last Wednesday. It was outstanding in many respects and will be long remembered in the fact that on this occasion the first English wedding vows were spoken in the Hickory Grove church.

The wedding of Miss Esther Bohling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bohling, and Alvin Goering, son of Mrs. Lena Goering, solemnized by Rev. John Streng of Burr, son of Rev. Theodore Streng, took place at 3 p.m., Wednesday.

The bride entered to the strains of Mendellson's wedding march, which was played by Mrs. Theodore Streng.

The wedding was carried out as a single ring ceremony. Miss Hilda Bohling, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Harvey Goering, cousin of the bridegroom, was the bridegroom's attendant.

The bride wore a lustrous white satin, ankle length dress, made with intricate puff sleeves, very modern.  She wore a beautiful undulating

white veil which she carried up over her arm.

A translucent strand of pearls, a gift from the bridegroom, were clasped about her neck. The bridesmaid wore a lovely dress of green. Following the services a buffet supper was served to sixty guests at the home of the bride's parents. The house was decorated in keeping with Christmas, there being Christmas candles and wreaths adorning the table.

A majestic wedding cake formed the center piece of the bride's table. The flowers used at the wedding and supper were pink roses and white chrysanthemums.

We wish the bride and bridegroom many long years of happy life and contentment.
