August Miller

Dies Thursday At Washington

August Miller, who had been a resident of Lanham for many years died Thursday afternoon, January 27, at the Washington County Hospital at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 28 days. His death followed a brief illness, and he was a patient in the hospital at Washington for 15 days. His body was taken to the Vance Funeral Home at Odell, Nebraska.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon, January 30th, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lanham, Kansas. Rev. Henry Trawny, pastor of the church, officiated at the funeral service and at the interment in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Lanham.

Mr. Miller was born April 29, 1877 at Cook, Johnson County, Nebraska. On October 23, 1902 he was married to Miss Auguste Jasch in Hanover and they established their home on a farm in the Hanover community. Since 1926 they had been retired and lived in Lanham where Mrs. Miller died unexpectedly on December 15th

Surviving are their one son and one daughter; Emil Miller and Mrs. Herman (Irene) Johannes, city: and one grandson, Jerry Johannes, Marysville.

He was preceded in death by six sisters and was the last of his family.

Mrs. Auguste Miller

Dies At Lanham

 Services Friday

Mrs. Auguste Miller passed away suddenly this Wednesday morning, December 15, at her home in Lanham. She was the mother of Emil Miller and Mrs. Irene Johannes, both of Hanover. Mrs. Miller, who was 84 years of age is survived by her husband, August and her son, Emil and daughter, Irene.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 o’clock Friday afternoon in St. John’s Lutheran Church at Lanham with the Reverend Henry Trawny officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Vance Funeral Home of Odell, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements. The body will lie in state at the Vance Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.
