Warren Kenton Frederick Eltiste

Warren Kenton Frederick Eltiste was born on September 22, 1922

on the family farm south of Johnson, Nebraska; the son of Herman

August and Ethel Mae (Kiel) Eltiste. He attended school in the

Roosevelt School District and later graduated from the Johnson

High School with the class of 1940.

He was united in marriage to Miss Caryll Jane Briar on April 8, 1941

in Marysville, Missouri. She preceded him in death on October 1, 1999.

Warren was a long-time employee of the former LT&T Phone Company.

He was a Lineman and later was a Switchman. He retired from

LT&T after 31 years of service on January 10, 1978. Warren

served in the US Army during World War II entering service on

June 6, 1945. He was honorably discharged on August 6, 1946.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #8 in Nebraska City;

F.O.E. #968 of Nebraska City; VFW; First Evangelical Lutheran

Church in Nebraska City and the Communication Workers of

America (CWA).

He is survived by his children: Diann Rinne and husband Robert

of Lincoln, Nebraska; Dr. Kirby Eltiste and wife Kathy Wischow

of Omaha, Nebraska; a daughter-in-law Sandra Eltiste of Wymore,

Nebraska; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law;

Ora Eltiste of Johnson, Nebraska and Dorothy Briar of Wichita, Kansas

and a brother-in-law Dee Jarvis of Auburn, Nebraska; other family

and many friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death

by a son Ronald in 1994, an infant son Jay Scott and two brothers:

Kiel and Herman Eltiste.

Warren entered rest on January 14, 2003 at Holmes Lake Manor in

Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 22 days.
